August 2005 I moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand to serve as the head librarian at Grace International School. I am supported by friends and family through Wycliffe International. My goal is to expand my church family's world view; to share God's Word with Bible-less people and to grow in my personal faith. As I experience my journey I will add photos with text to the blog. My friend Sarah teaches 1st grade in Bagabag, Philipines. She wanted her students to see how far Flat Stanley could travel. So, 3 of our lunch-time library buddies met Flat Stanley, colored him fancy and sent Flat Stanley back to Bagabag. Of course, a tootsie roll sucker was earned in the process! I retired from Rockford Public Library after 32 years of service early in 2005. I have always loved sports and played college basketball briefly for one year. From early in my high school years I decided I wanted to teach. I love to learn and have an insatiable curiosity about many topics. I love to be challenged and to challenge others. I taught for 2 years and then went on to get a Master's degree in library science. Now I am combining my education,experience and my discipleship in my new position as Head Librarian at Grace International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand and as a Wycliffe Missionary.
