August 2005 I moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand to serve as the head librarian at Grace International School. I am supported by friends and family through Wycliffe International. My goal is to expand my church family's world view; to share God's Word with Bible-less people and to grow in my personal faith. As I experience my journey I will add photos with text to the blog. Here is the location of the new orphanage. It is surrounded by tilled soil that will be planted with corn. The new orphanage will eventually house 50 children and will be 3 stories in height. Currently, there are 11 children that attend school that are without parents. Several are children of HIV parents...a very prevalent situation in Thailand and other very destitute countries.

I retired from Rockford Public Library after 32 years of service early in 2005. I have always loved sports and played college basketball briefly for one year. From early in my high school years I decided I wanted to teach. I love to learn and have an insatiable curiosity about many topics. I love to be challenged and to challenge others. I taught for 2 years and then went on to get a Master's degree in library science. Now I am combining my education,experience and my discipleship in my new position as Head Librarian at Grace International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand and as a Wycliffe Missionary.
